Savanna and Carson Part I- Engagements at Vivian Park, Provo, Utah
I FINALLY get to blog Savanna and Carson’s beautiful photos! I am going to do things a little differently from blogging chronologically just for a moment because I have fallen in love with Savanna and Carson as a couple and with their pictures for their entire wedding suite. It is always so special to me when someone trusts me with all of their photo needs for their wedding, and I feel that a special way to highlight them will be to do a three part series, one blog each week for three weeks, all about Savanna and Carson! So without further ado, here is Part I, the engagements :)
Savanna and I were set up through her twin sister Ashleigh who goes to school with my brother way out in New York at West Point, the Military Academy. I don’t know what Ashleigh said to Savanna to trick her into picking me to do her wedding photos, but I will forever be grateful that she did!
After lots of discussion and photo sharing between Savanna and I, we settled on one of my favorite locations in Utah County, a vast field above Vivian Park with a spectacular mountain view. When Savanna, Carson, and I got up to our location, we started up the little hike to the field, and it started to rain. We kept walking, hoping the rain would stop, but it only got worse. And worse, and worse. So we turned around and started walking rather quickly back to the cars, and we were caught in a full-on downpour by the time we got there! We just sat in the car, waiting for the storm to pass, but after a few minutes, we decided it wouldn’t be worth it. It would be so wet and SO muddy even if the rain had stopped. It was the first time (and hopefully the last, but not likely) I had ever been rained out of a shoot! I’m glad we decided to reschedule, because the rain just kept getting worse on the drive home.
What’s ironic about this story though is that Savanna and Carson have had the forces against them in all of their engagement planning. Carson had to try a total of three times to propose to Savanna—he was rained out the first two times before he got the chance to ask, and the third time, the skies were threatening to rain AGAIN, so he hurried and got down on one knee and made it out before it started!
We did meet up for our rescheduled date though, and everything went perfectly. Our weather was beautifully overcast, but not cold at all! Carson and Savanna were (and are!) SO in love, and it melts me how authentically their relationship came across in their photos.
