Savanna and Carson Part II- Bridals at the Provo Amphitheater (Provo Castle)

YAY!! Part II of Savanna and Carson! The two of them wanted to switch things up with the mood of their backdrop, switching to something slightly more architectural, but not too stiff. There was a lot of discussion about shooting at the State Capitol in Salt Lake City, but Carson felt like it was, well… too much. So we scaled back the formality and decided to shoot at the Provo Amphitheater at the Utah State Hospital. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this location, it is such a well-rounded backdrop that showcases all seasons of the year beautifully. For a small shooting fee, you get access to the “castle” and amphitheater area at the back of the hospital as well as the vast apple orchard in the front. In the springtime, the orchard is in beautiful white bloom. The summer offers rich and thick greenery, and the fall gives a very unique setting with gorgeous red apples clinging to the trees. The castle and amphitheater make it easy to shoot all year long!
For this blog post, I’m going to turn away from talking about the session itself too much and tell a little bit about Savanna and Carson and their story!
Carson and Savanna first met in a hot tub at the Branbury apartment complex in Provo, Utah. They had a first date set up shortly after that, which was supposed to be a group date, but Carson’s friends didn’t get dates in time! So it ended up being Carson and Savanna and two other guys all out to dinner together!
Shortly before they got married, Carson graduated with a degree in psychology and plans to get a masters in medical administration. He and his family are super into derby racing! Savanna is a BOSS and got her degree in finance! After getting married, they moved to Idaho on a whim, but didn’t like it much up there, and moved back to Riverton while they both work and Carson applies to masters programs.
