Ashlynn and Carlens Murat- Wedding at the Provo City Center Temple and Reception at The Manor at the Riverwoods
Hi everyone!!
I come back from the dead with a wedding that happened a WHOLE YEAR AGO. I am sorry that I have had nearly zero online presence! I got a little carried away about this time last year in my personal life, particularly with trying to purchase a home and have it fall through, and my husband looking for a new job. We had fun over the summer that I’ll have to catch you all up on at another time, because it is time to talk some WEDDING!!!
And let me just say how weird it feels to be talking about such a beautiful celebration with so many people right in the middle of these Corona Virus/COVID-19 quarantine shenanigans…. ANYWAY.
I would like to touch very quickly on my editing process that I started right around the time of this wedding to point out the consistency that my photos begin to follow from here on out. My editing style is still not 100% where I would like it to be, but I am getting SO much closer, all because of a trick I learned from Jordan Brittley called a color profile. I don’t utilize this tool exactly how Jordan does, but it serves the same purpose and I’ll go into more detail another day!
Ashlynn and Carlens’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful. They had so many friends and family waiting for them outside the temple to greet them and congratulate them on their new beginning with each other. Everyone truly was there for them, and it was amazing to feel how present everyone was.
Because Carlens is originally from Haiti, he had two families at his wedding— his Haitian family AND his “adopted” American family. I loved how seamlessly Carlens fits into both of his family dynamics and especially how much his American family sincerely considered him their own family as well.
The Murat’s dinner and reception was held at The Manor at the Riverwoods in north Provo, right at the mouth of the Provo Canyon. It’s a beautiful reception hall that includes two spacious rooms. Ashlynn and Carlens primarily used the second room as their reception was centered around sharing delicious food together in a sit-down setting. The double room set-up would be perfect to have dancing without it being too difficult for the people who aren’t dancing to keep conversation with each other!
After everyone finished their dinner and dessert, Ashlynn and Carlens left with a glittery sparkler exit that was perfectly intimate yet celebratory! I have fallen in love with these two and look forward to continue photographing their growing family! (Yes, they just had the most beautiful baby girl and you bet we’ll be doing pics as soon as the quarantine is over!)
