Jamie and Jace- Engagements at Cook's Greenhouse and Tibble Fork Reservoir
Throwing it back a little bit to this engagement session that happened about a year ago now! Cook’s Greenhouse is a GORGEOUS location that truly can fit the needs for any kind of session- couples, families, and even seniors!
This couple though… Jamie and Jace are incredible people. We had such a blast while doing their photos and we were all so relaxed and carefree by the end and really got some fun shots. I honestly haven’t had the guy in the couple be so willing to open up to get those super cute-sy, authentic-emotion images, so thank you Jace for making my job so easy!
There are a couple reasons that we chose to do their engagement photos in a greenhouse— Jamie and Jace got engaged in a greenhouse and wanted to keep things a little sentimental, and Jamie was dying for some color in the backdrop! Because even at the end of April or beginning of May, there really isn’t all that much color yet outside. And as an added bonus, you can shoot in a greenhouse at any time of the year and not have to worry about weather one bit. Rain? No problem. Shooting in the middle of the day? We don’t even have to worry about harsh light!
And on that note, a quick tip about shooting in a greenhouse. The best time of day to shoot is ACTUALLY the middle of the day, in the middle of the week. Not for the light or whatever, but to avoid their busy times. Greenhouses, especially in the spring and summer, tend to get pretty packed in the evenings when people are getting off of work and on the weekends.
We also played this fun game where they each had to pick out a plant that they felt best represented their fiancé! It was so fun to watch them pick something then have the other tell them to pick something else that they liked better, ha!
Then we shot up to Tibble Fork Reservoir really quick to get some more neutral shots with the pretty blue-green water. The outfits they picked out blended seamlessly with their location!
Also, can you believe that ring!? Thank you, Forge!
