Cinco De Mayo and the 7 Best Restaurants for Taco Tuesday in the Provo/Orem Area (Or Any Other Day of the Week)

Well… Here we are. It’s the end of April, and you know what that means!? (No, I’m not talking about the end of the bipolar weather here in Utah, though I know I’m not the only one grateful for that)

¡¡CINCO DE MAYO!!

I will also not pretend that I’m a crazy celebrator of the holiday for what it is, but I CAN say that I’m a huge fan of Mexican food!! SO. I have put together a killer list for tacos in the Provo/Orem area (or really just Mexican food in general— I’m a burrito kind of gal) so that you can celebrate Cinco De Mayo either this weekend or next Tuesday (Taco Tuesday for better deals!) the right way!

  1. Maria Bonita- There is always a wait, but it is so worth the wait! Their food is delicious and the portions are enormous! I’ve never actually been there on a Tuesday, but I have driven by on a Tuesday, and the line is out the door. So I’m sure they have some great Taco Tuesday deals.

  2. Rubio’s- They have so many amazing Mexican options, but if you’re going on Tuesday, your deal is for their fish taco. The taco is amazing, and what really makes it is their decent selection of salsas!

  3. Brasas- I’m not sure how authentic it is but it is so so so good. Don’t be suspicious about the fact that it looks like it’s run out of a tent!

  4. Mi Ranchito- You guys, I’ve never been here. But every time we ask someone for restaurant recommendations, even if we don’t ask for Mexican food specifically, this is one that always comes up.

  5. Milagros- Also not totally authentic, but please go at some point in your life, even if it’s not for Cinco De Mayo or Taco Tuesday. The dishes are so unique and beyond delicious. My husband got the baby back enchiladas last time we went, and after my taste test allowance of his meal, I had some major order envy.

  6. Joe Vera’s- Another one that I have been kicking myself for not trying yet. Literally every time we pass by I say something to Everett about how we need to go. Like, soon. Anyone who’s been there wanna give me a review for Joe Vera’s?

  7. El Gallo Giro- Last but most DEFINITELY not least. Holy freakin’ moly. The first time I came here was when Leo was a wee babe, and I got a burrito that was a lot spicier than I thought it would be, and I was so worried that Leo would get an upset stomach… but I ate it anyway. Does that make me a bad mom? Naaahhhh. I’m just showing my child the right way to eat from an early age. Do yourself a favor and eat at El Gallo Giro ASAP.

And there you have it, folks. If you try any of these, I would love it if you comment and let me know how you liked it!
