Peter and Britney- Engagements at Donut Falls
To give some insight as to the timeline I’m on of real-time versus session-time of what I’m blogging, the session that I’m writing about today happened in July of last year— almost an entire year ago! And within the last couple of months, I’ve done wedding photos for my brother and sister and keep posting on Instagram about “how much I love doing pictures for my family!” So I feel like I’m beating a dead horse by saying yet again, “I LOVE DOING PHOTOS FOR MY FAMILY!” with blogging about my brother-in-law’s engagements, but really he was the first one! ;)
We. Love. Britney. Peter could not have chosen a better woman to bring into the Hinckley family. She’s so fun-loving and sincere and just downright kind. And she’s BEAUTIFUL. Inside and out! She has recently opened up a little more publicly about an autoimmune disease that she has called alopecia, which has caused her to lose her ability to grow any hair. She’s got some great reads on it at her website My Friend Alopecia. Check it out!
Along with an amazing couple, we were able to LUCK OUT with some amazing wildflowers that we weren’t planning on. Peter and Britney chose their location for the high-mountain, evergreen pine scenery, and the flowers were just a major added bonus. We were on a tight timeline because of how short Peter and Britney’s engagement was, so we had to do their pictures on the day we did. Really awesome timing. People typically think of spring as the time to get wildflowers in their pictures, probably because that’s when things start blooming in general, but mountain flowers don’t make their debut until July! So pro tip: if you want wildflowers in your engagement pictures, bridals, or family pictures, plan for somewhere between the middle and end of July! They are so worth some careful planning for!
(PS— this was my first session using my fancy pants Canon 5D Mark IV that I had been saving up for a loooooong time to get. Pete and Brit were SO kind to let me test it out on them!)
