Amelia and Thomas Part I- Engagements at Jordan Pines Campground
Are you ready for another three-part feature already? I AM! I LOVE shooting full wedding suites, but this one is close to my heart because Amelia is such a dear friend of mine. She’s one of those friends that even if we haven’t talked in months, one of us can text the other out of the blue, meet up within the next couple of weeks, and pick up right where we left off.
And that’s exactly how I got so lucky to land a wedding package with her.
It had been a while since we had talked to each other, let alone even seen each other, and to make a long story short, we got back in contact and met up for lunch at the Kneaders in Draper (I had only ever been there for breakfast before, and I was so impressed with lunch! Definitely make that happen if you haven’t before!). While we were waiting in line to order our food, Amelia dropped the bomb on me that she was getting married!! I didn’t even know she was DATING someone! So obviously the rest of lunch was spent talking about this mystery man and all of her wedding plans and she asked me about my availability. I remember saying to her that she didn’t need to feel obligated to use me for her wedding photography just because we’re friends (insecurity of mine? Maybe. But I NEVER want anyone I love to feel that obligation!), and do you know what she said!? She said, “Sierra, I don’t feel obligated. One thing is for sure, that if I use you for my wedding photography, I KNOW that I won’t be disappointed.” Ummm… Cue the tears. I literally will remember how those words made me feel for the rest of my life. And largely because of that, these engagement photos and the rest of Amelia and Thomas's wedding suite will hold a special place in my heart forever!
